12,500 American children are diagnosed with cancer every year. Vanderbilt has a vibrant childhood cancer program that's revealing the causes of diseases, creating better therapies and giving hope to children and their families. Your support makes a brighter future for every child we see.
We will develop new ways to care for and understand the birth defects that lead to life-threatening heart problems. Many Vanderbilt experts work together to determine what causes heart malformations. As a team we can develop effective new treatments for children with heart disease.
Beyond these three areas, we will make discoveries in other childhood diseases such as asthma and juvenile diabetes. These discoveries will enable us to enhance treatment options for those illnesses.
